Yoga
If you can breathe, you can do yoga. The core of yoga is the breath.
Trish’s mixed-level classes are suitable for a wide range of yoga experience levels and abilities, ranging from Yin and Slow Flows to Power Vinyasa flows.
Trish completed their 200-hour Bhakti Yoga Certification with Gopi Kinnicutt in 2015 during an intensive yoga immersion offering at the Govardhan Ecovillage north of Mumbai, India.
Trish first came to yoga 20 years ago as a college student and found that it helped to manage their stress levels during the semester. After a brief hiatus in graduate school when Trish grappled with the Western appropriation of yoga, and feeling energetically out of balance, Trish returned to the mat in 2012.
To say that yoga saved Trish’s life is both a cliche and an understatement. A couple of months after returning to the mat, Trish found the strength and clarity to make significant life changes. Since then, life has become an intuitive journey full of joy and adventure. Trish’s breath-led yoga practice is a continuous reminder that a happy life isn’t defined by a lack of obstacles, but by how we choose to respond to them.
Trish’s role is as a facilitator and guide to bring students deeper into their own practice, while holding space for students to find their “flow”—listening to their bodies, following their breath, forgetting about what the poses are supposed to “look like” and moving inward. Trish’s classes begin with breath work (pranayama) and often incorporate kriyas (breath work paired with asanas), mandalas, and humor.
Grounding yet challenging, contemplative yet invigorating, Trish’s intentional sequencing allows students to organically link breath with movement through music driven flows.
Please Note: At this time, Trish has decided to step away from studio teaching to go deeper with their personal yoga practice. The physical practice of Yoga (yoga asana) is just one limb of eight limbs of yoga, and yoga remains foundational to all of Trish’s work, including their Spiritual Somatics Curriculum.
Trish still offers a once a month New Moon Manifestation Flow via Zoom which corresponds with the moon cycle. This is a Slow Lunar Vinyasa Flow that is appropriate for all bodies and levels of experience with yoga and manifestation work.
